New P.E.T Care Campus Announced January 2010

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT! P.E.T Care Campus
Joint Venture - First of Its Kind

The Friends of the C/PC Animals made a major announcement at Fur Ball 2010. We appreciate your continued support of our efforts to help the animals in our community.

The P.E.T. Care Campus will be an exciting collaborative venture bringing together Tennessee Tech University, Cookeville/Putnam Co. Animal Shelter, the Humane Society Spay/Neuter Clinic and Friends of Cookeville/Putnam County Animals to create the following:

• A new Cookeville/Putnam County Animal Shelter

• A new Humane Society Spay/Neuter Clinic

• A visitor education center and resource for pet owners, including a dog training site for hosting pet clinics, classes and shows.

• An off-leash dog park, including a pre-adoption play area.

• A residence for pre-vet students to live, work and study while serving in the shelter and clinic for experiential learning opportunities.

• A place where students can live with animals to socialize and train them to become adoption candidates.

As we embark on an ambitious capital campaign to fund this project, we hope that you will join our efforts and consider a contribution to make the P.E.T. Care Campus a reality! We would be pleased to give you additional information regarding the planning and funding of this unique venture. Our immediate goal is to raise the funds to purchase the property.

Donations for the P.E.T. Care Campus may be made to Friends of Cookeville/Putnam Co. Animals or TTU Agricultural Foundation, both non-profit entities. For more information, or interest in pledging money toward this project, please contact Jim Brock, TTU Director of Development, at (931) 372-3055.
